Please join us as we once again immerse ourselves in the timeless, devotional story of the Ramayana. This year we will celebrate Navaratri from Tuesday, Oct. 13th to Thursday, Oct. 22nd. We will hold daily morning Pujas to Sri Ram at the Temple at 7:30 am. Evening recitals of Ram’s story will be held for 9 nights. The last two Ramayana Readings of Navaratri will take place on Oct. 20th and 21st during our Navaratri Yoga Retreat. These two evenings will include special performances including theatrical storytelling and kirtan from 7-9 pm. All are welcome to attend, whether you are taking the whole Retreat or not.
On Thursday, Oct. 22nd, Arati will begin at 5:30pm. Following Arati we will convene in the Bay View Parking lot for Vijaya Dasami, our ‘final battle’ with Ravana. Help is needed to create the demon King Ravana, especially on Saturdays for the next few weeks. Let JD, Ram Sharan or Sunil Bhai know if you are interested or have any questions.
Please refer to the posters in the Community Building and to the Temple website for further information regarding the schedule of events and how to be involved. Jai Sri Ram!
Special Peformances, Oct 17 & 18
All are welcome to attend two special events at the Temple this weekend, in celebration of Navaratri. On Saturday, Oct. 17 from 3-5:30pm there will be a musical rendition of the Sundara Kanda, and on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 5-6pm there will be a Ramayana inspired dance recital. Both groups are excellent performers and the shows are going to be wonderful artistic offerings. Come and enjoy!
