Dear Hanuman Fellowship Satsang,

Happy end of summer and beginning of fall! Our annual general meeting will be held this year on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 3:00 to 5:00pm at Mount Madonna Center. All Fellowship participants are invited and we hope that you will be able to join us for the meeting, followed by dinner.

As I sit and reflect on this past year, I continue to be amazed at all that Mount Madonna Center continues to offer. Our Yoga Service and Community (YSC) and Yoga Service and Leadership (YSL) programs are vital and well attended. I was able to spend some time working on the curriculum of the YSL program this past year and am so inspired by the quality of programming that we offer to our short-term residents. The programs are focused on yoga (Sutra and Gita study, asana and pranayama, yama and niyamas, karma yoga) and weave in the shared experience of group projects and discussions on community. Who we are and how we provide an extraordinary space for personal growth and transformation makes me appreciate so much the gifts that Babaji gave to us.

MMC yoga programs continue to thrive. I am personally currently finishing my electives for the YTT 300 program and have loved deepening my own practice and immersing myself in the study of Yoga. As we end our second year of not having Babaji present in our daily lives, I find myself looking forward to retreats where we have an opportunity to practice together. Mount Madonna Institute (MMI) is currently working towards potential formal accreditation and on our 10th year CA State renewal application. The College of Ayurveda is currently holding its 3rd masters degree class with 19 students working on their theses with a July 2016 graduation date planned.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Pacific Cultural Center, Mount Madonna School and Sri Ram Ashram are very active and busy. The Temple continues to draw so many from our extended community who are grateful for the offering. PCC continues to welcome hundreds of yoga students per week. Mount Madonna School begins its 36th year of educating young hearts and minds. The Fellowship is warmly encouraged to join MMS for their upcoming public events: the "Uxhumano" presentation on September 18, a chance to hear from twelfth grade students about their experiences in South Africa this past summer; and, the Randy Getz Memorial Golf Tournament, MMS' 7th annual golf fundraiser on October 9 at De Laveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz.

This year, Sri Ram Ashram will offer its first Yoga retreat through Mount Madonna Center Programs. Yoga Diwali India is a ten day program melding the best of who we are, the Yoga wisdom of Mount Madonna and the unique life of Sri Ram Ashram and the surrounding area. Everyone at the Ashram misses Babaji -- his playfulness, love, wisdom and guidance -- and the kids talk about him daily. Still, everyone has taken responsibility for lives and this responsibility doesn’t stop until the job is done which appears to be never. It’s a blessed life.

At the Board level, over the past year we have begun to take a look at our organizational structure. As those people who have carried so much responsibility for the organization find themselves aging and looking for ways to contribute differently, we want to ensure that we have good process and procedures in place that will support us into the future.

Please join us on Sept 20th for Satsang and the celebration of our extraordinary community.

Love,

Prabha Pacey
President, Hanuman Fellowship Board of Directors
