In the great spiritual heritage of India the fall season is the time of a rich confluence of traditions and rituals honoring gods and goddesses in their myriad forms. Through the inspiration of our revered guru, Baba Hari Dass, we will come together during the final three days of the traditional nine-day Navaratri festival to honor and celebrate the inspiring story of Lord Rama as told in the spiritual epic, Ramayana.
Mornings are devoted to intensive yoga practice and ritual. Afternoons will be spent studying symbolism and preparing for the final ceremonies. In the evenings we visit the wondrous tale of the Ramayana in story, dance, and music. The final evening is the ceremonial destruction of the Great Demon King Ravana, representing the virtuous mind prevailing over ego and negativity. The retreat will close with a Vedic Fire Ceremony for purification and peace.
