This small
group silent retreat is devoted to a deeper level of meditation and
purification practice for people who have already had Yoga experience. To
help calm the mind and allow it to turn inward, we will utilize a light diet of
pure foods, a variety of purification practices, an observance of silence, and
a meditative cave-like atmosphere of seclusion, all designed for inner
reflection. A number of hours each morning and afternoon will be devoted to
prescribed meditations, breathing exercises and practice of asana in the
tradition of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Baba Hari Dass. Time for
reflection and study, spiritual stories, rituals, chanting of mantra and other
devotional practices are also part of this special retreat. Because this type
of practice deepens as we immerse ourselves, we give first priority to those
who are able to attend the full program. Enrollment is
limited, please register early online.

Friends old and new are invited to come together to
celebrate the coming of the New Year, to take time to reflect on the past year,
and to consciously consider renewal for the upcoming one. Each day of this Ashtanga Yoga Retreat brings the opportunity to practice an
array of Yoga methods: Shat Karma (cleansing practices), Pranayama
(breathing practices), Asana (postures) and Dhyana
(meditation). Classes are offered for all levels of practitioners. Each
afternoon there is opportunity for study of the BhagavadGita. Evening programs include kirtan
(chanting) and on New Year’s Eve a special evening of chanting, singing,
prayers for peace, and meditation up through the midnight hour. Baba HariDass will be in attendance
during this retreat. This is one of our most popular retreats so please
register early with the Program's Office: http://www.mountmadonna.org/live/New-12-28.html
